It's that time of year again! Time for the 5th Annual Acoustic Neuroma Association
of Canada (ANAC) Virtual Walk. Jen and I have participated!
I shared my personal story with you all last year and really appreciate all the
love and support. It’s attached as a reminder.
Update: I am having surgery on November 25th to remove my AN. Thank you all for your
prayers and well wishes.

My personal story:
For those that are not aware, I was diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma (“AN”) in
2018. An AN is a benign brain tumour that develops on the eighth cranial nerve,
which is the main nerve leading from the inner ear to the brain.
I have had yearly MRIs to monitor the growth of the tumour and I have now decided
to undergo surgery to remove my AN.
When I was first diagnosed with an AN I was introduced to the Acoustic Neuroma
Association of Canada (ANAC) and they have helped guide me as I’ve been
investigating symptoms, treatments, surgery, radiation, recovery, etc.
ANAC has made my journey so much easier and comforting. They have assisted me in
gathering information, medical research and provided additional support. Local
chapters across the country host support group meetings where pre and
post-surgery members gather to share their experiences, struggles, and
successes. ANAC is a liaison to the top doctors in the country and keeps us
current on the latest research. In 2022 I joined ANAC's board of directors and
I am asking you to join me in supporting this great organization and its
members. We want to ensure that ANAC can continue to provide the research,
support and contacts AN patients need in order to make the best decisions
possible about their treatments.
