My experience with an acoustic neuroma began in 2021 when I was first diagnosed. The Acoustic Neuroma Association of Canada offered both emotional support and resources to help me find treatment. ANAC has been there for me throughout my journey with this rare brain tumour. I received Gamma Knife Radiation in 2022, and my tumour has been stable since then. However, I was left to deal with single-sided deafness and severe vertigo, both of which have changed my quality of life. ANAC understands that the impact of this non-malignant tumour is significant, although to others the side effects are often invisible. I am joining ANAC’s 5th Annual Walk to raise awareness of acoustic neuroma and to help others who are trying to adjust to life-changing events.
Please join me in supporting ANAC in whatever small way you are able. We are a small charity with a mighty spirit and the will to reach out to others with this condition so that they will not have to go through the journey alone.
Thank you.
